Pakistan vs India World T20 match to be played in Kolkata, not Dharamshala
The World T20 match between Pakistan and India, which is scheduled on March 19, will be played at Kolkata’s Eden Garden Stadium after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift the match from Dharamshala cricket stadium to some other place.
The ICC is expected to issue a formal statement in this regard very soon. The Indian cricket board has issued instructions to Kolkata authorities to make arrangements for the big match.
Previously, a Pakistani security team visited India to inspect the arrangements made for World T20. The team informed PCB that there were not enough measurements made to meet any extraordinary demonstration in Dharamshala.
As a result the PCB approached ICC to get the big match shifted from Dharamshala to any other suitable location.
Meanwhile the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has delayed the departure of women and men’s national cricket team to India for the World T20. The team was scheduled to leave on Wednesday.
PCB Director Media Amjad Hussain said, “the final decision on team’s departure to India for T20 World Cup will be taken after a formal go ahead by the interior ministry”.
